Parent and Student Rights Pertaining to Education Records
In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Marshall School District provides annual notice of parents and student rights pertaining to education records. Parents and eligible students have the right to:
- inspect and review the student’s education records
- request the amendment of the student’s education records to ensure that they are not inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the student’s privacy or other rights
- consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student’s education records
- file with the U.S. Department of Education a complaint concerning alleged failures by the school district to comply with the requirements of FERPA
- obtain a copy of the policy pertaining to education records
Please contact the Pupil Services Department at 655-3466 if you have further questions about parent and student rights pertaining to education records.
