Hello ELC Families,
The Marshall Early Learning Center School community is made up of outstanding students, supportive families, a strong community, and a dedicated staff of caring professionals. Presently, there are approximately 260 students enrolled in Early Childhood, 4-Year-Old-Kindergarten, 5-Year-Old Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. The ELC school staff is comprised of around 50 staff members. We boast an involved family community having ample ways to be engaged in the learning happening each and every day. The Early Learning Center School in Marshall has a strong tradition of supportive, hard working parents and families. Families have the opportunity to develop the home and school partnership in a variety of ways. Many parent-guardians volunteer in classrooms, chaperone field trips, and join the PTA. Our district PTA does a great job working with families, community, and staff members to create amazing opportunities for the Marshall students and community. Students and families have the opportunity to participate in family activities like the Monster Mash (a huge Halloween event), the Sweetheart Dance (for fathers/daughters), Family Sports Night and others. This year, the PTA donated thousands of dollars back to our school to support such items as motivational speakers, assemblies, scholarships, apparel for student groups, and field trip opportunities.
A little background on your ELC Principal:
I currently live in Sun Prairie, with my wife, Brittney and two kids (Braelynn 7 years & Braxton 5 years). I'm thrilled to say that Braelynn will be attending 2nd Grade here at the ELC and Braxton Kindergarten. We enjoy outdoor activities such as camping, boating, biking, and hiking. Being part of a learning community is very important to my wife and I as we also enjoy attending local community events, sports and musical events, PTA events, along with anything else that will have a positive impact on the ELC and Marshall Community.
I graduated from The Sauk Prairie High School in 2003. I attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and graduated in May of 2007. After graduating I accepted a job as a kindergarten teacher for the Iowa-Grant School district located in southwestern Wisconsin. After teaching kindergarten I taught second grade for seven years at Ixonia Elementary which is part of the Oconomowoc Area School District. I have two masters’ degrees, a Masters of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse and the other in Educational Leadership Degree for Administration from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee.
The upcoming 2023-24 school year will be my 9th year as Principal of the ELC and I could not be more proud or excited to continue the positive work that continues to be worked on at the Marshall School District. I frequently tell people that this is my “Dream Job,” having the opportunity to work with the earliest learners of the ELC and working with such a positive, caring, dedicated, and knowledgeable staff.
I truly enjoy working with young students while modeling an energetic and positive attitude. I will continually stress the importance of taking pride in yourself, family, school, and community to all of our students. My number one expectation is that students always give their best effort and that we are kind to everyone! To make sure this happens, I strive to create a positive rapport and trustworthy relationship with students, families, school staff, coupled with our Marshall community to maintain a positive partnership for a successful school year!
Marshall is a great place to be and it is truly a privilege to be a part of such a great school district. If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback please email me at rpeters@marshallschools.org or call my office at 608-655-1588 ext. 251. Your feedback is essential to continuous improvement as our staff and myself continue to strive for excellence teaching core values of respect, responsibility, and safety.
Marshall Proud!
